| This is CB's brilliant design for the original league logo, circa 1999. I still like the M's on the grill. |
This was a detail in the header of our first website. I was pretty proud of getting the MMFFL on the side of the helmet. |
CB's MM logo was replaced in late 2000 with a red, white and blue knock-off of the NFL shield. I thought it made a pretty cool coffee mug. |
In 2001, I did the macho metallic version for the all silver website. |
This was the header for our first website in 2000, way before the days of CBS Sportsline.
This was used as the header early in 2001. It didn't last too long. Notice the names of the 2001 teams in the background.
There are fun echoes of the past here: The Hollywood Red Ryders, The Peoria Widgets, The Death Valley Heat Misers,
The San Dimas Socrates (Sew-Crates), The Superior Cheese Guns, The Chattahoochee Mortal Mud, The Osage Uprights.
The only team names that are still active (2006) are the Kitty Hawk Flying Orvilles and the Truth or Consequences Wild Dog Barkers.
The silver header was replaced by this more colorful one early in the 2001 season.
This was my first shot at a header for the 2002 season at CBS Sportsline.com I particularly liked the collision of the Blue
(for the Northern Division) with the Red (for the Southern Division). When I uploaded it, the website shrunk it so it became
really tiny . . .
. . . so I made a smaller version which fit in the gap. This one lasted the full 2002 season.
For the first 2003 header I wanted something that had a Civil War feel. You know, North meets South.
I liked the smokey look of the red and blue background. It reminded me of a battlefield.
The windblown logo and the typeface also said "Civil War" for me. It just didn't look good on the site.

For the second 2003 header I abandoned the 19th century for the early 20th century. It was still
nostalgic, and it was about football. I was glad to get CB's original logo some more face time in
honor of our 5th season.

In 2002 and 2003 I had tried to get away from the "Mundy/Mordan Fantasy Football League" because the
league wasn't about CB and me. We had a "Name the League" contest in 2002, with the league name changing
every week. In 2003, we called the league the "Marching Morons Fantasy Football League." For 2004 I decided to
simplify the league name to MFL, and to name it after the company that CB and I had started. I thought that was
appropriate. So the MMFFL became the MFL.
I redesigned the shield logo to reflect the change, and made it sleeker. It has ten stars to represent the ten teams in
the league. Its fields of red and blue represent the two divisions. I particularly like the way the letters spill off the shield and
vanish into the background. I think this one will make a great coffee mug, too.

In 2005 I incorporated team helmets for the league's 10 teams. On the left are the Northern Division helmets, and on
the right are the Southern Division helmets. On the top row are the two teams from each division that have won
league championships.

For 2006 we're exploiting the shadowy Midnight theme.
